Re-Invest is India’s first Renewable Energy Global Investors Meet & Expo - and Oldbaum’s Technical Director Andy Oldroyd will speak at the event later this month.
He’ll be in good company in New Delhi as the event will be officially opened by India’s Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It's hoped that over 1000 delegates will attend from India and abroad, including investors, fund sponsors, financiers, advisors, lenders, banks, project developers and manufacturers.
Andy co-founded wind energy consultancy Oldbaum Services in 2005 and since then the company has delivered over 17GW of wind technical services on onshore and offshore projects worldwide. In 2013 Oldbaum was commissioned by the Indian Government’s Ministry of New and Renewable to carry out a study into the offshore wind potential of Tamil Nadu, on the southern tip of India.
At Re-Invest Andy will take part in a panel-discussion chaired by Secretary General of the Global Wind Energy Council Steve Sawyer. The discussion will be about Grid Connected Wind Power with a focus on offshore wind, and speakers will advise on how wind power development in India can be accelerated. On the panel with Andy will be Allan MacAskill from MacAskill Associates; Mr Huub Den Rooijen, Head of Offshore Wind at the Crown Estate; Norbert Giese from Senvion SE; Mark Leybourne from IT Power and Charles Yates of CmY Consultants Limited.
The Indian Government is aiming to add approximately 100,000MW from renewable sources in the next five years, offering huge investment. As the first major platform for investment promotion in the renewable sector at Government of India level, Re-Invest looks to be unmissable.
Speaking ahead of his trip to Asia Andy said: “Offshore wind in India is an extremely exciting new market and it’s an honour to be invited to speak at such a prestigious event.”
Re-Invest 2015 takes place from Sunday, February 15 to Tuesday, February 17. Andy’s panel-slot is on February 17 from 10am to 11.30am.
